When you look at Jackie Thonney's paintings, be prepared to surrender your imagination to an exciting world of bright colors, whose natural intensity and dramatic lighting will not leave you indifferent. Whether her subjects are island scenes, animals, aquatic life, tropical flowers or foliage, Jackie Thonney has developed the skills to reflect that essence in her watercolor and oil paintings.

Jackie grew up in Heidelberg, Germany, before moving to Lausanne, Switzerland where she met her husband and raised their two children. But it was the sunny Florida and the clear waters of the Bahamas that made her discover a natural talent for watercolor and oil painting. She always feels the challenge to capture the magnificent colors of these tropical regions.

Jackie now shares her time between Port St Lucie, Florida and the Abaco Islands.

Over the last ten years, Jackie has studied with nationally and internationally known artists, and continuously enjoys attending workshops.

Jackie's work has been shown at the Elliott Museum and at the Four County Juried Art Shows at the A. E. "Bean" Backus Gallery in Fort Pierce, where she received an award. She was also a selected artist printed in the well-known "Art for Living Calendar".

Her paintings are in private collections in the USA and the Bahamas as in Europe, in France, Switzerland and Germany.

Her favorite themes are landscapes, tropical homes, islands, boats, underwater scenes, exotic flowers or birds and African wildlife.

Special orders are welcome. Reproductions in form of giclées are also available.
